Kite Insights Foundation

Advancing learning, dialogue and practical action for a more resilient, inclusive and sustainable society

Kite Insights Foundation is a non-profit organisation established to support public-benefit work that helps people and organisations respond to the environmental, social, economic and technological challenges shaping our world.

We exist to expand access to high-quality learning, informed dialogue, practical tools and collaborative initiatives that build resilience, capability and agency across workplaces, communities and institutions.

Why we exist

The challenges facing society today are deeply interconnected. Climate change, inequality, technological disruption, institutional inertia and growing social fragmentation are all reshaping how people live, work and participate in society.

Yet many people and organisations still lack the knowledge, confidence, support and practical pathways needed to respond effectively.

Kite Insights Foundation exists to help close that gap.

We support work that:

  • increases understanding of complex issues
  • builds practical capability and confidence
  • enables informed dialogue across different perspectives
  • helps people and organisations turn knowledge into action
  • expands access to these opportunities beyond the usual expert or elite spaces

Our purpose

The Foundation’s objects are to advance knowledge and understanding of environmental, social, economic and technological issues that affect society and the resilience, sustainability, fairness and wellbeing of communities, institutions and economies worldwide. It operates on a non-profit basis for the public benefit.

In practice, this means supporting initiatives that help people and organisations:

  • understand the issues shaping their futures
  • develop the awareness, skills and strategies needed to respond
  • participate more confidently in change
  • contribute to more resilient, inclusive and sustainable systems

What we support

We are building the Foundation to support public-benefit initiatives that combine:

Learning
Accessible, engaging educational content that helps people understand complex issues and act on them.

Dialogue
Open, constructive discussion that helps bridge divides, test ideas and surface practical solutions.

Action
Tools, experiences and collaborative models that help people and organisations put learning into practice.

Inclusion
Approaches that widen participation and ensure access beyond traditional centres of influence.

Our first major initiative

Our first priority is Hurd, a free digital platform designed to help employees take meaningful action on the issues that matter most to them at work.

Hurd combines curated learning, community participation, reflection tools and gamified experiences to help people translate complex challenges into practical action in workplaces and communities. It already includes role-specific learning, community content, games, and multilingual resources, with users across dozens of countries and hundreds of organisations.

The Foundation is being established to help ensure that public-benefit work of this kind can remain accessible, inclusive and capable of scaling.

Why this matters now

The scale and urgency of today’s challenges demand more than top-down commitments or specialist knowledge alone.

Progress depends on whether people, in their everyday roles and communities, have the ability to understand what is happening, engage with others, and contribute meaningfully to change.

That is the space this Foundation exists to serve.

By supporting learning, dialogue and practical capability-building, we aim to strengthen the conditions for more resilient institutions, more engaged communities and more inclusive forms of progress.
