A Laudes Foundation breakfast: The business imperative of a just transition
The concept of a just transition—greening the economy in a way that is as fair and inclusive as possible to everyone—is often framed as an equity and inclusivity issue. But there is also a more practical, even competitive, business imperative to understanding the social and economic implications of sustainable transformation. With contributions from senior business leaders and leading civil society stakeholders, this interactive discussion hosted by Laudes Foundation will explore how businesses that incorporate a just transition into their approach to sustainable transformation will move faster and more successfully. It will explore questions such as:

  • What are the business advantages of engaging with a just transition, and how does it help companies achieve sustainable growth while addressing stakeholder needs?
  • Who are the key stakeholders that businesses need to engage for a successful just transition, and what strategies have proven effective in addressing their concerns while advancing climate and sustainability goals?
  • How can businesses integrate just transition principles into their operations while balancing the urgency of climate action and the need for streamlined, effective processes?

Confirmed speakers include: Leslie Johnston, CEO, Laudes Foundation; Aron Cramer, President and CEO, BSR; Amanda Ellis, Senior Director, Arizona State University Global Institute of Sustainability and Innovation.
